Awards are available to Regular and Life members in good standing at the time of competition, or as otherwise stated for some individual awards. Each award will be replaced with a Keeper Trophy at the Annual Dinner and Awards Night the year following.
The German Shepherd Dog Club of Manitoba is most grateful to the family of Life Member Marvis Kilgour for offering a new achievement award in her memory
This is a new perpetual award (2017) created to honor Life Member Marvis Kilgour for her commitment to the German Shepherd Dog and her dedicated support of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Manitoba, Inc. This award shall be offered annually to a GSDC Manitoba Regular or Life Member, in good standing, who firstly owns, or secondly is the breeder of the highest placing German Shepherd Dog in Canada (based on the previous year’s Top 10 C.K.C.official standings; details to be completed).
The 2017 G.S.D.C. Manitoba Specialty Show and Annual Awards Evening, Saturday August 19 will be dedicated to Marvis.

TRAINING AWARDS
The Gambler Memorial Trophy June 1 - May 31 Yearly (Donated by Bernice & Brian Lucas)
This award is offered to promote the intelligence and conformation aspect of the German Shepherd, portraying the breed in its entire capacity. - Dog must be a CKC Champion - Owner to submit three qualifying scores earned at a licensed CKC Obedience trial during the competition year - Owners must handle their own dogs in obedience competition - The average score of the three submitted scores will determine the winner
The Dalnavert Excellence in Obedience Award June 1 - May 31 yearly In Memory of: OT CH Luxurious Blaze of Penhaven UD and CH. Mr. Jinx vom Haus Lucas CDX, Am. CDX (Donated by Bernice & Brian Lucas, Mr. & Mrs. Nick Klos)
This award is offered to promote the working German Shepherd and to encourage competitive spirit in the GSDC Manitoba. - Dog may be, but need not be a CKC Champion - Owner to submit three qualifying scores earned at a licenced CKC Obedience Trial during the competition year - Owners must handle their own dogs in obedience competition - The average score of the three submitted scores will determine the winner.
Scores for both awards shall be submitted to the Executive prior to May 31 in the competition year, stating the show, date and judge under which each score was obtained. A copy of the Championship certificate must be submitted for the Gambler Award (or a list of judges, shows, dates, and points earned if unconfirmed at the time of application). In the event of a tie, a fourth score shall be submitted (if there is no fourth score, a 0 will be tabulated as a fourth score). If a tie cannot be broken, then both names shall be placed on the trophy. A keeper award will replace the original trophy after the subsequent year. Both awards will be announced and presented at the Annual Dinner and Awards Night.
The Dual Award (Donated by Gary Wilkes)
This Award is offered to dogs who have the highest qualifying score in obedience and place in their conformation class at the GSDC Manitoba Annual Specialty Show. It is open to dogs who qualify in any regular or non-regular obedience class offered, provided the dog is entered in and places in a competitive class in conformation.
The Terry Gail Martin Victory Cup (In Memory of: Terry Gail Martin)
The Terry Gail Martin Victory Cup is offered at the GSDC Manitoba all breed obedience trials. In the event the trials are not held, it may be offered at a speciality trial, or at an obedience trial offered as a booster at an all breed show which is decided by the executive of the club, and may be offered more than once during the Club year. This award is for the Highest Qualifying Score earned by a German Shepherd Dog in any one trial or in one of any multiples of trials offered in one day.
The Challenge Trophies The GSDC Manitoba has three awards which are offered to club members participating in a fun obedience match held at a Club function during the year.The Junior, Intermediate and Senior trophies will be awarded to the highest scoring Novice, Open and Utility dogs respectfully which participate in the match. These are informal awards and members are encouraged to be involved in Club functions and matches which promote training and the spirit of competitiveness.
CONFORMATION AWARDS
Birks' Trophy (Donated by Henry Birks & Son) This trophy is to be awarded to the dog winning Best of Breed at the annual Speciality Show. The owner need not be a member of the GSDC Manitoba.
President's Cup The President's Cup is presented to the dog awarded Best of Breed or Best of Opposite Sex at the annual Speciality Show if the owner of said dog is a Regular or Life member in good standing of the GSDC Manitoba. If both wins are awarded to dogs owned by Club members, the Best of Breed Dog is awarded the prize.
Lynne Marie Diduch Award (Donated by Randy Diduch in Memory of his sister Lynne Marie) This award will be presented to the Club member whose dog is awarded Best Puppy in Speciality Show. Said owner must be a Regular or Life member in good standing with the GSDC Manitoba.
All GSDC Manitoba trophies shall be returned to the Club by May 1 of the following year of award, and a keeper trophy will be provided to the winners. All costs incurred for shipping or damages to the trophies shall be the responsibility of the winner.
